Sunday, 17 June 2012 - 7:30pm - Old Down Country Park

This is a fantastic opportunity for families to celebrate both the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Father’s day at two, open-air, mid-summer concerts at Old Down Country Park near Thornbury on Sunday 17th June. Thornbury Musical Theatre Group has got together with the Country Park to put on a show that will feature music from the charts, musicals and Disney films from the last six decades. An added bonus for those attending the afternoon performance will be free access to the country park before the show.

TMTG normally performs a concert at this time of year and putting that together with the attractions of the park, Father’s Day and the Diamond Jubilee is just too good an opportunity to miss. The afternoon show starts at 3pm and so there’s plenty of time for people to enjoy the park before hand. We’re encouraging everyone to bring their own chairs and picnics (hampers also available from Old Down) for both concerts with admission for the 7pm evening performance available from 6pm. The Park’s Café and Bistro will be open on the day, with both pre-theatre dinners and interval drinks from the Bistro available. Please visit www.olddowncountrypark. co.uk for further details.

TMTG is renowned for its talented singers and strong chorus numbers, and our concerts, normally in Thornbury’s Armstrong Hall, have always been very popular and well supported. Directing the show, for the first time with TMTG, is Keith Glasspole. Our Musical Director is Chloe Allsopp-Jones and the Choreographer is Alice Walton. We’ll be offering great entertainment, appealing to all ages which will include:
