“Be careful what you wish for” seems to be the ongoing theme in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Brothers Grimm inspired musical, Into the Woods.

The story follows The Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to go the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give some milk. When the Baker and his wife are visited by the neighbourhood witch, who reveals to them that she placed a curse on their family, the two set off on a journey into the woods to reverse the curse.

Also in the woods, we meet Little Red, who is trying to visit her grandmother, the Wolf who loves tasty little girls, the Witch’s daughter Rapunzel, and the Princes chasing after their loves.

By the end of Act I, it would appear that everyone has got their wish and will seemingly live happily ever after.

But in Act II, when Jack’s beanstalk brings them a visit from an angry Giant, we see how the consequences of their actions haunt them in disastrous ways. The community must come together to save each other and their kingdom, but sacrifices must be made.

Fabulously professional

Well done to all involved! What a fabulously professional production! Some amazing singing voices, actors and actresses, excellent scenery and the orchestra did the show proud too. Excellent all round. Would highly recommend this show to all.

Stella

Well what can I say ...without doubt one of the best performances from an amateur group that I have seen ...across the board the performances were stellar ...fantastic singing -acting and really authentic performances that wouldn’t look out of place on a West End stage ...particularly Red Riding Hood and the witch who were just brilliant...well done EVERYONE

Sprinkling of fairydust

'Into The Woods' by TMTG was Amazing! A beautiful cocktail of all those much loved classic fairytails. A tantalising mix of fabulous local people singing their hearts out, great humour, never ending smiles & a definite sprinkling of fairydust. Congratulations TMTG on a FANTASTIC performance!

A fantastic show!

Bravo TMTG! What a talented bunch you are. Such strong performances all round. The singing was exceptional in what is a challenging score. Huge congratulations all!

Olivia

Fabulous production!

Wow! We went to see Into the Woods last night expecting a treat from this very able cast and were not disappointed! We loved the most amazing singing throughout; notably the witch and butchers wife! Comedy was also high on the agenda with a particularly hilarious performance by little red riding hood! An impressive ensemble who worked well together with a tricky score to learn, not to forget the fabulous orchestra! Amazing way to end the school term!

Excellent

TMTG’s production of ‘Into the Woods’ is excellent. Considering this is such an ambitious show, TMTG performed this with phenomenal ease and confidence. There were strong performances provided by all and every aspect of the show ran smoothly. A show that is new to me, Into the Woods challenges the standard musical one comes to expect nowadays, but this change was refreshing.

Fabulous and Fun

Fabulous show full of fun and an amazingly talented cast. Me and my husband both came home humming the songs. Well done to everyone involved in creating this wonderful show!

Jennie

Strong cast and will leave you humming away

As usual with this company the set looked great and in front of the stage a really talented orchestra helped make the show special. But for me the biggest memory will be the talented cast. There are at least half a dozen vocalists of rare talent in the cast and lots of charming comic performances as well. Go along, I guarantee you'll be humming the songs for days.
